(Montel) The closure of Belgium’s Doel 3 (1 GW) nuclear reactor, which went ahead as planned late on Friday, posed no risk to the country’s security of supply, TSO Elia said.
“In recent years, Belgium has been a net exporter of electricity. The absence of this single reactor does not pose any problem for us. Without Doel 3, we will probably export a little less,” Elia spokeswoman Marie-Laure Vanwanseele told Belgian daily L’Echo on Friday night.
