(Montel) Denmark has ordered utility Orsted to restart and maintain operations at three coal and oil-fired plants (990 MW) until the end of June 2024 to protect security of supply amid the ongoing energy crisis, the Danish firm said on Saturday.
Orsted will have to restart the coal-fired Studstrup 4 (360 MW) unit and the oil-fired Kyndby (260 MW) peak power plant and postpone a planned closure of its coal-fired Esbjerg 3 (370 MW) unit from April 2023 to June 2024, it said in a statement.
