(Montel) European gas prices rose on Thursday amid continued Norwegian outages and colder weather forecasts, which outweighed healthy renewables output.
The benchmark front-month contract on the Dutch TTF hub was last seen EUR 1.30 higher at EUR 40.60/MWh.
Traders attributed the rise to outages leading to “disappointing” Norwegian gas flows and an impending fall in temperatures.
"We see another unplanned outage in Norway today, which adds to a bullish sentiment. All this make people want to hedge October,” said a Scandinavian trader.
