(Montel) European gas prices rose EUR 2 on Wednesday amid colder forecasts and growing concerns regarding LNG supplies via the Middle East due to attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.
Europe’s benchmark contract, the Dutch TTF front month, was last seen up EUR 1.89 at EUR 36.06/MWh on Ice Endex, while its UK equivalent was 5.87p higher at 91.19p/th, Ice Futures data showed.
Prices were rising amid colder forecasts and due to Red Sea shipping concerns, said a trader.
