(Montel) German day-ahead power prices looked set to ease EUR 1.50 on average next week as muted holiday demand should offset a drop in wind generation.
The front-week baseload contract traded last at EUR 41.50/MWh on the EEX exchange. By comparison, day-ahead prices for this week were on track to average around EUR 43/MWh, based on exchange and broker settlements.
Wind generation could average 25.8 GW next week, below this week’s estimated average of around 38.8 GW but still 2.2 GW above normal, according to Montel’s Energy Quantified (EQ).
