(Montel) The share of LNG in Europe’s total gas supply is forecast to average more than a third to 2026, with global output set to increase by a quarter, said International Energy Agency (IEA) gas analyst Gergely Molnar.
LNG was a “new baseload supply for Europe”, set to average 36% of supply over the four-year period from 2022, while pipeline gas from Norway would average 25% and domestic production was expected to make up 16%, he said at an IEA workshop on Monday.
