(Montel) Norwegian utility Statkraft has acquired Spanish renewables firm Enerfin for EUR 1.8bn, boosting its green capacity by 1.5 GW for projects under construction or in operation, it said late on Friday.
The transaction was expected to be completed by the end of H1 next year, conditional on approval by the relevant authorities, it added in a statement.
The portfolio came with significant opportunities for the repowering of wind farms, as well as hybridisation and battery storage possibilities and allowed increased access to markets in Spain and Brazil, said Statkraft.
