(Montel) French utility EDF has warned of capacity cuts at its 2.7 GW St Alban nuclear power plant this weekend due to low flows on the Rhone river.
“Due to flow rate forecasts on the Rhone river, production restrictions are likely to affect Saint Alban nuclear production from 29 September to 1 October included,” the firm said.
The plant in the southeast of France uses Rhone water to cool both of its 1,335 MW reactors but must cut capacity if river flows or water temperatures break environmental limits.
