(Montel) Chinese LNG import demand may double from this year’s projected levels to as much as 160m tonnes (218bcm) by 2025 as the country’s economy grows and amid a widespread expansion of import terminals.
“[China] will be an important LNG market over the coming years,” said Michael Muller, CEO of trading firm Vitol Asia, at the 4th International Oil and Gas conference in Bali late last week, noting demand was set to “roar back”.
