(Montel) Dutch energy consumers generating solar power are facing increasing costs for any excess output as energy suppliers are starting to charge extra fees for having to manage the unwanted electricity volumes, at times amid negative market prices.
The move is not expected to affect wholesale prices as most solar panels will continue to generate as usual, experts say, but a small number of consumers on flexible contracts may be more careful about when their solar installation runs.
