(Montel) The Nordic system price hit an hourly record low of EUR -5.67 for Sunday amid strong hydropower and solar generation as well as weak demand due to mild weather.
The previous hourly record low for the system price was EUR -1.97/MWh from Saturday, according to data from Nord Pool.
The system price as a whole for the day ahead out-turned at EUR 7.32/MWh, down from EUR 9.98/MWh on Saturday. It had recovered to EUR 37.14/MWh for Monday.
Sunday’s negative prices affected all Nordic bidding zones for several afternoon hours, while the rest of Europe also saw a similar outcome.
