(Montel) Asia-Pacific benchmark coal prices rose 8% over the past week as ongoing limitations to Australian coal exports coincided with enduring global demand for the fuel, participants said on Thursday.
Broker Global Coal’s Newcastle index, a reference price for high-grade (6,000 kcal/kg) Australian coal, was last assessed last at USD 360.17/t, up USD 27.11 on the week and the highest since 4 November.
