(Montel) The Nordic power system price could average above EUR 80/MWh in September, the highest price in more than a decade, amid declining hydropower stocks and high prices in other parts of Europe, analysts told Montel.
The September contract was last trading at EUR 71.25/MWh, a EUR 30.80 rise from 1 August.
But prices still have potential upside, according to Arne Bergvik, chief analyst at Swedish utility Jamtkraft.
“With the current weather outlook, the Nordic system price could average EUR 80/MWh in September,” he said on Monday.
That would be the highest monthly system price since December 2010, Nord Pool data show.
