(Montel) Spain has already exceeded last year's renewable energy production thanks to favourable weather and rising capacity of wind and solar power.
Renewable output reached a year-to-date total of 116,844 GWh on 17 November, compared with 116,695 GWh for the whole of last year, TSO Red Electrica said on Tuesday.
Renewable sources now account for 49.9% of the total power mix amid a boost in new capacity and Spain's ongoing efforts to phase out coal.
