(Montel) The German government suspects Russian-owned gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and 2 have been sabotaged amid a severe drop in pressure suffered by both, Der Tagesspiegel reported late on Monday.
“Our imagination no longer provides a scenario that it is not a targeted attack,” said a source close to the investigation, according to the German daily.
Yesterday afternoon, pressure fell significantly at the defunct Nord Stream 2, followed in the evening by a similar incident at its sister pipeline, with the close timing of both incidents speaking against a coincidence, added the source.
