(Montel) The volume of EU carbon allowances the EEX will auction from 15 January-16 December 2024 will grow 31% year on year, according to the new auction calendar released by the exchange late on Thursday.
More than 677m EUAs, excluding aviation allowances (EUAAs), would be sold next year, said the EEX, which holds auctions on behalf of EU member states.
That compared with the more than 518m EUAs auctioned in 2023, excluding EUAAs, the calendar showed.
In addition, the EEX would auction 6.7m EUAAs, compared with the 5m EUAAs auctioned in 2023.
