(Montel) Developer CPC Finland will proceed with a planned 50 MW wind farm in southwest Finland without the need for subsidies, it said on Tuesday.
Construction on the 12-turbine facility in Isojoki would start this month, the firm – a subsidiary of the German renewables developer – added, eyeing completion in autumn 2019.
The investment decision followed the signing of a power purchase agreement for the whole of the project’s output, CEO Erik Trast told Montel.
He declined to name the company it had signed the deal with or the expected annual output of the wind farm.
In May, Finnish firm Tuuliwatti said it would build a 21 MW wind farm in the country, the first in the Nordic region to be built without subsidies.
