(Montel) The Dutch government may pay the owner of one of three coal plants remaining in the Netherlands to close to reduce carbon emissions, the energy ministry said on Wednesday.
The energy ministry gave owners of the three coal plants the opportunity to receive subsidies for closing and Onyx applied.
“It is currently being assessed whether the submitted proposal meets set requirements, including adequate support for employees,” the ministry said. “If the conditions are met, another coal-fired power station will be closed.”
