(Montel) French guarantees of origin (GO) will be extended this month to all power generation, including nuclear output, under regulations published at the weekend, the EEX said on Tuesday.
At present, GOs concern only renewable output, but the new rules extend the system to all energy sources including nuclear, which accounts for about 70% of total French power output.
“Enabling the disclosure of all energy sources increases transparency for end customers and can make existing disclosure processes more robust,” said Aude Filippi, EEX’s head of gas and sustainability markets.
