(Montel) European gas prices dived near 8%, or EUR 3.40, on Tuesday, correcting down from yesterday’s jump as healthy supply and persistent mild weather dampened demand.
The front-month contract on the benchmark Dutch TTF hub was last seen down EUR 3.39 at EUR 41.05/MWh, while the UK’s NBP equivalent shed 7.50p to 105.23p/th.
“It is a correction after the strong rally yesterday,” said Marina Tsygankova, lead gas analyst at LSEG, referring to the nearly 12% price spike on Monday.
