(Montel) German day-ahead power prices looked set to surge by around EUR 48 on Monday as wind output was forecast to plummet.
Baseload for Tuesday last traded up EUR 48.07 at EUR 294/MWh on the EEX after opening at EUR 295/MWh.
Wind generation was forecast to dive from 19.3 GW today to an average of 12.2 GW on Tuesday – 1.7 GW below normal, data collated by Montel showed. Weather service DWD expected average wind generation to hit a low of 13.3 GW.
